| A Note from Dr. Jack Schaap
When God spoke to Moses through the burning bush, He called Himself the I AM. That sounds like a strange name; yet, it tells us that God is a God of the present. He did not say that He was the I WAS or the I WILL BE. No, He stated that He is the I AM. God lives in the present and is focused on the "NOW".
If ever there wasa woman who was absorbed in the present, it is JoJo. Her life is lived intensely in the NOW. To read her books is to be amused, inspired, and instructed. It is difficult to believe one woman lives such an animated, high-energy, richly-textured life. JoJo seems to live multiple lifetimes simultaneously.
While far too many of us mortals are preoccupied with past failures or glories or future deadlines and apprehensions, JoJo has discovered the secret of those who seem to be happy with an abundance of joy. She is focused on what is happening around her right now. And it's not because her life is possessed with no pressures or disappointments. To the contrary, her life is a mosaic of the heartaches, poor health, disappointments, and demanding schedules that we call "living".
JoJo and her wonderful husband Roy both possess that spirit of living for others. They both are focused on what they can do personally to lift the spirit of those around them. They are very conscious of the present and those living it with them, and that consciousness has made them the outstanding Christian couple they are.
I believe a hero is someone who succeeds while struggling with the same problems others use as excuses for their failures. If that be true, JoJo Moffitt is a hero.
